Costco Earnings, Revenue Miss in Q2 By Investing.com


Investing.com – Costco (NASDAQ:) reported on Wednesday second quarter that missed analysts’ forecasts and revenue that fell short of expectations.
Costco announced earnings per share of $2.95 on revenue of $21.61B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $2.97 on revenue of $49.58B.
Costco shares are up 3% from the beginning of the year, still down 0.34% from its 52 week high of $586.80 set on April 6. They are outperforming the S&P 500 which is down 5.98% from the start of the year.
Costco follows other major Consumer Staples sector earnings this month
Costco’s report follows an earnings beat by Alimentation Couchen A on March 15, who reported EPS of $0.7 on revenue of $18.58B, compared to forecasts EPS of $0.6452 on revenue of $18.11B.
General Mills had beat expectations on March 23 with third quarter EPS of $0.84 on revenue of $4.54B, compared to forecast for EPS of $0.7834 on revenue of $4.54B.
