Stocks Waver as Earnings Season Kicks Off

U.S. stock indexes notched slight gains in early trading as the first earnings reports from major companies began to roll in and investors considered the highest inflation in four decades.
The S&P 500 was up less than 0.4% on Wednesday morning, after it closed down 0.3% on Tuesday. The Nasdaq Composite rose about 0.5%%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up about 0.1%.
